Prepaid funeral plans and prices

Prices 

The invoice for a funeral is always shown in two parts - the funeral director's charges which are services that we have provided, and third party costs known as disbursements. Disbursements are fees and charges made by the other individuals which we pay on your behalf, often before the funeral takes place.

  • Basic funeral

    Funeral director's charges - £2010.00 (correct as of 1st April 2024)

    This includes the provision of funeral director's services, attending to necessary details, provision of necessary staff, provision of basic coffin suitable for burial or cremation, the transfer and care of the deceased until the funeral and the use of the hearse for the funeral. 

    * Please note the basic funeral does not cover the cost of embalming, viewing of the deceased or limousines. No changes or additions can be made to this funeral. 

    Third party costs - please contact us for prices

    This will include the crematorium or cemetery cost, minister or celebrant fees and doctors fees for cremation certificates if applicable. 

  • Direct cremation

    Direct cremation - non attendance - £1600.00 (correct as of 1st April 2024)

    For a variety of reasons, it is not unusual for a family to choose to not have a funeral service at all. Instead they select a direct cremation alternative to a funeral.  

    This includes the provision of funeral director's services, attending to necessary details, provision of necessary staff, basic coffin, transfer and care of the deceased and transfer to the crematorium. No changes or additions can be made to this funeral. 

    Third party costs - (please contact us for details)

    This includes cremation costs and doctors fees for the cremation certificate.

  • Traditional funerals

    Funeral director's charges - £1920.00 (correct as of 1st April 2024)

    This includes arrangements, consultation and 24-hour service, last offices and care of the deceased. Viewing is available by arrangement as requested and this also includes the cost of all necessary staff. 

    Moving the deceased into our care, in office hours - £275.00 

    Outside of office hours (weekends/ bank holidays, evenings) - £325.00

    Service in church prior to the cremation or interment elsewhere FROM - £275.00

    Vehicle charge, including the use of Daimler hearse and limousine for up to 6 people - £750.00 

    * There will be a reduction of £50.00 if the limousine is not required. 

    Coffins - from £555.00

Standardised Price List

All funeral directors are legally required to publish this price list for a standardised set of products and services. This is to help you think through your option and make choices, and to let you compare prices between different funeral directors (because prices can vary)

  • Attended Funeral

    Attended Funeral (funeral director's charges only)

    This is a funeral where family and friends have a cermony, event or service for the deceased person at the same time as they attend their burial or cremation.


    Taking care of all necessary legal and administritive arrangements: £1920.00


    Collecting and transporting the deceased person from the place of death (normally within 15 miles of the funeral director's premises) into the funeral directors care: £275.00


    Care of the deceased person before the funeral in appropriate facilities. The deceased person will be kept at the funeral director's Snodland premises: £0.01


    Providing a suitable coffin - this will be made from veneered oak: £555.00


    Viewing of the deceased person for family and friends, by appointment with the funeral director (where viewing is requested): £0.01


    At a date and time you agree with the funeral director, taking the deceased person to the agreed cemetery or crematorium (normally within 20 miles of the funeral director's premises) in a hearse or other appropriate vehicle: £700.00

  • Fees You Must Pay

    For an Attended or Unattended burial funeral at Snodland Cemetery. *

    In this local area, the typical cost of the burial fee for local residents is: £818.40

    For a new grave, you will also need to pay for the plot; for an existing grave with a memorial in place, you may need to pay a removal/replacement fee. In addition, the cemetery may charge a number of other fees.


    For an Attended cremation funeral, the cremation fee at Vinters Park Crematorium** is £840.00

    In this local area, the typical cost of a cremation for local residents is£840.00


    *This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.


    **In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors' fees as well. This is the charge for two

    doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.


  • Please discuss any specific religious, belief-based and/or cultural requirements that you have with the funeral director.


  • Additional funeral director products and services

    This funeral director may be able to supply a range of optional, additional products and services, or to arrange (on your behalf) for a third party to supply them. Examples include:


    Additional mileage (price per mile): £2.50


    Additional transfers of the deceased person's body e.g. to their home, to a place of worship etc. (price per transfer) From £275.00


    Collection and delivery of ashes: £0.01


    Embalming: £225.00


    Funeral officiant (e.g. celebrant, minister of religion etc.): Prices on request


    Services supplied outside of normal office hours: Prices on request


    The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.
